march 25, 2011 - layout update and new affies

As you can see for yourself, I´ve finally found some time to work on a new layout. Although bright colours aren´t really my cup of tea, I was feeling very spring-y and shiny, so I thought I´d let it shine here too. Just for a while ;) So I hope you guys like the new looks around here. Also I have some great new affiliates - definitelly go and have a look at their pages, they´re really worth it!

I also have some new wallpapers to upload but since Im a little busy right now, they should be here later this weekend, so come back later to check them out :)
And as always, thank you all for all the tag-love! It makes me so happy to get some feedback from so many talented people.

march 4, 2011 - new wallpapers update

And Im back here, bringing some new fanart with me. As you can see (especially those who know my art from before) I´ve been experimenting with a whole bunch of new styles - using the negative space, different way of colouring and different ways of blending images together. I was influenced especially by Bre´s awesome tutorial on composition which has some great and helpful tips in it. Also (you WILL notice, so I might as well give you a heads up) - I fell in love with one of Marilyne´s textures and now I can´t stop using it, especially for the birdies part :) Now, I´d love to be able to claim that there is a deeper meaning behind my use of the birds, but nope, it really is just that I love the effect :)

- C I T Y O F A N G E L S - After quite a long time I felt like doing an Angel piece again. This one is mainly about me having fun, there´s not much of a deeper meaning behind this piece. A while ago we were remembering Andy Hallet´s death and the character of Lorne came back to me with all the "LA´s got it all" and how ironic is that, because it´s clearly not meant in a very good way - that´s why I used pictures of the lows of the characters, showing the irony behind the whole LA glamour deal.

- M A Y B E - Another purely "having fun" piece. Im a huge fan of Damon/Elena ship - it´s just how the things work with me. I watch the show, I start to like it, get close to the characters and couples... and then invent my own couples and versions of the characters :) Also I´ve wanted to do a little bit of coloring experimenting, these colours aren´t really typical for me but at the end I was quite happy with the outcome.

- R U N A N D H I D E - This piece was originally supposed to be Hermione-centered, showing the person that she´s evolved into and the way how she manages to deal with the situation around her and keeps figthing no matter what. At the end I went for a bit more... ominous tone, kind of ruining the bravery-idea, but that way the piece has a bit more of a chill for me, which is exactly what I loved about the book.

- F E A R A N D B L A M E - I´ve been wanting to somehow picture this scene for a long time now and finally decided to do something about it :) The style that I used is very new for me, the whole negative-space-is-your-friend idea and also using the text itself as quite a significant part of the wallpaper. A lot of people were saying that all the arguments and tension between Ron, Hermione and Harry made the movie really slow and boring. For me on the other hand it added a certain level or... reality, because I imagine the situation between them to be exactly like that. I liked how they managed to show this atmosphere in the movie and that´s why I didnt want to edit the screencaps more than it was necessary, to let them speak for themselves.

- G R A V I T Y - Finally time for some more Leverage art! :) I love and adore the show and it is so hard to choose one scene from all the great ones, but I am a huge Parker/Hardison fan. I love this scene, where a female thief Parker is breaking into a secured office together with another member of the Leverage team, hacker Hardison and he gets cold feet at the last second and doesn´t want to jump. I wanted to capture the certain comedy of the situation so basically just went in and had some fun :)

- W O R S E - Everyone who watches The Vampire Diaries knows that this was a very strong scene. Elena finds out some unplesant things about Damon and so he tells her about his "dark past" and how he used to do things back then when he was still "fangs happy" :) The whole time we are seeing Damon as the bad and unsensitive guy and suddenly we find out that Damon used to be exactly like Stefan and that actually the roles kind of shifted heavily between the two brothers. I wanted to concentrate on the emotions of Damon and his horror when he sees all the wreckage that Stefan is capable of. For this I wanted to keep the piece simple, only using the screencaps and bright colours to underline the strength of the emotions.

march 3, 2011 - site stuff and new affies

So just a quick update to let you guys know that I´ve updated my about me section and also my resources section with some great new pages to browse through and also added some new pages into my adored list. Along with that I have some new affiliates, yay! :) You should really have a look, because they´re all very sweet and very talented people.

Also as you can see I´ve been experimenting with coding and styles so I hope you like the outcome :) That´s all that I have for now, but I´ll be back in the next couple of days with some new fan art update :)
